The Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA) is pleased to announce the 4th Edition of its International Conference on “Arbitrating Indo-UK Commercial Disputes”, themed “ADR as a Catalyst for Strengthening the India–UK Economic Partnership,” to be held on Friday, 5 June 2026 in London.

This year’s edition assumes particular significance in light of the rapidly expanding India–UK economic corridor and the recently concluded India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which is expected to substantially strengthen bilateral trade and investment flows between the two nations. As India and the United Kingdom deepen their economic engagement, efficient and reliable ADR mechanisms will play an increasingly important role in enhancing investor confidence, ensuring contractual certainty, facilitating legal and professional mobility, and fostering a dependable and harmonized framework for cross-border commercial relations.

The Conference will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Surya Kant, Chief Justice of India. The inaugural session will include keynote addresses by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Law and Justice, Government of India, and The Rt. Hon. Sir Geoffrey Vos, Master of the Rolls and Head of Civil Justice of England & Wales, along with special addresses by Mr. Kartik Pande, Deputy High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, and Mr. Brett Dixon, Vice-President of the Law Society of England & Wales.

Bringing together eminent members of the judiciary, leading arbitration practitioners, policymakers, academics, and industry representatives from India and the UK, the Conference aims to provide a dynamic platform for high-level deliberations on contemporary issues in international arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution.

Through this initiative, the ICA seeks to further strengthen institutional cooperation, encourage legal and academic exchange, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of international arbitration practices between India and the United Kingdom.
