Dr. Mahendra Soni is an Associate Professor of Law at National Law University, Jodhpur, India, and Director of the Centre for Research in Labour and Employment Laws. With over eleven years of academic and professional experience, he specialises in labour and employment law, competition law, financial regulation, and cross-border regulatory frameworks. He previously served as a Law Officer at Bank of Baroda before entering academia. Dr. Soni holds a Ph.D. from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, where his research focused on comparative labour jurisprudence. His recent scholarship engages with evolving regulatory challenges in employment relations, digital markets, and social protection frameworks. His publications appear in internationally indexed journals, including Scopus-, ABDC-, and Web of Science-listed outlets, addressing themes such as termination of employment, gig economy regulation, digital competition policy, and cross-jurisdictional labour protections. He has established and led research centres dedicated to labour and competition law, and has organised multiple national and international symposia on labour regulation and policy reform. Dr. Soni has also served as a visiting faculty member and resource person for institutions including the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs and UGC-HRDC centres. His work combines doctrinal analysis, comparative legal research, and policy-oriented inquiry, with a particular interest in regulatory design, enforcement structures, and the intersection of labour, market governance, and institutional reform in emerging economies.
